Need a light to hang over the bar or entry way? We have taken an original cast brass passageway light and added a brass deflector cover for looks, and then added a polished brass chain. The chain and power cord are 4 feet long, so you can reduce this to fit your need. The light has been re-wired with a new UL Listed 110-120 volt bulb holder so a normal house bulb works just fine. Accessing the bulb is easy because the deflector shield, globe, and the globe cage spin off as one piece. The globe is made of defused glass and is a 360 degree globe with no damage. This light can also be used outside, and it will last forever!

This light measures 7 inches tall, and the deflector cover is also 7 inches wide.

This is an original solid brass bulkhead ship light. Weight is about 8 pounds per light. Measures 9 1/2 inches tall. When mounted to the wall, it will extend out by 6 1/2 inches. This is light can be mounted on top of a dock post or directly to the ceiling. We found these light being used in the engine room and common walk ways of a German working class container vessel being scrapped at a salvage yard operation. The lights measure 8 1/2 inches tall. The base is 4 inches wide. The base is iron and the cage us polished brass. We sand blasted the bases because they were painted many different colors. The globe is glass, and undamaged. Re-wired with a new 110-120 UL Listed fixture. Any normal house bulb will work, but a T-10 Tube light will work best.

This vintage all brass nautical light would have been used in walkways and engine rooms. You may have seen some of our lights that we add the deflector cover, but this one is all original. This light did have a side hole in the base for power supply, but I closed that hole and drilled a new hole on the bottom side of the base. This light measures 8 1/2 inches tall, and is about 8 inches wide. I shot the photos with the original wiring and bulb fixture but this light will be re-wired with a new 110-120 volt UL Listed fixture before it is shipped.

This is a one of a kind compass. This was recovered from one of my 2008 trips to the Alang Shipyards of India. As shown, this piece measures 22 1/2 inches tall. The outside brass rings measures 18 inches wide. The solid brass compass measures 8 1/2 wide and 6 inches thick. This is a fully functional liquid filled compass, and the card is perfect. The compass gimbals freely. I do not see any makers' mark on the compass. I made the base from steel and covered it with real cow hide leather that is stamped with an alligator look. The top half of this piece that is solid brass sits inside the steel base and is removable. This would make a great entry way piece to the beach house or office!

This is a sold cast brass original nautical light. 18 pounds is the weight. Measures about 12 1/2 inches tall and 9 inches wide. The 360 degree fresnel glass globe measures 6 1/4 inches tall and 8 inches wide. The glass globe has light wear, but nothing real serious. The top lid unscrews to provide even the largest hands access to the bulb. I am not sure if "TEF" was a maker, but I see this same mark on a lot of my vintage lights. The original bottom mount was missing from this light when I found it, so I made a new cast brass base for this light. I have also re-wired this light with a new 110-120 volt UL Listed fixture. All the wiring enter this light from the center of the base mount so you have no exposed wires. Any normal house bulb will work in this light, but we recommend a T-10 Tubular appliance bulb to get the best light. 40 - 60 watt bulbs will give you all the light you ever want.

This is an original Ship's Engine Telegraph. The head is aluminum and the base is steel. Measures 39 inches tall (to the top of the handle). The dial is 6 inches wide, with the outside ring it is 8 inches wide. Dial is marked "Chadburn". This is an electric telegraph, so the bell will not ring unless you sort out the electrical connections. Also, the dial has a light behind it, and you will have to sort out the electrical connections for this also. Total weight on this one is 30 pounds, so it can be shipped with no problems.

We call this the candle stick light. This solid brass electric nautical light measures 10 1/2 inches tall. The 360 degree glass globe measures about 7 inches tall and about 3 inches wide. This light was designed for outside use, but has many applications for inside lighting also. If you plan on using this light outside in a wet location, it is best if you hang it as shown in the photo to the left. It can be used outside in the inverted position, but you must seal the base of the globe or you may get water inside the fixture. For interior applications, this light can be hung any way you want. These lights have been re-wired for 110-120 volts, and have a new UL Listed Bulb Fixture.

This is one of our newest designs! We have taken an original teak wood tripod and mounted an original 18 pounds solid cast brass masthead light to the top. They work real well in a corner area, or between two chairs. In the attached photos you will see the tripod in the lowest position (41 inches at the top of the light), and with the tripod extended near the highest point of use (62 inches to the top of the light). You can change the height by expanding the length of the legs (they slide in and out), and by spreading the angle of the downward legs. This light is pre-wired for 110 volts, all you need to do is add the final plug or hard wire to your power source. I made several of these designs, but no two are 100% match due to the original light and tripod use.

The photo is very misleading. This original nautical lantern is 15 inches tall. The flat back side measures 10 1/2 inches wide, but at the widest point this lamp is 13 inches wide. The 180 degree fresnel glass globe has a few minor flake chips to some of the raised edges, but no cracks. The globe measures 7 1/2 inches tall and about 11 inches wide. You can see where a makers' badge was once attached to the front just above the globe, but it is long gone. The access lid on the top unscrews to provide bulb access. This light is constructed of all copper. I have shown the light with the original wiring, but it will be re-wired with a new 110-120 Volt UL Listed fixture when you buy it.

Not sure what the story is with this engine telegraph, but it is marked "Bendix, Brooklyn, NY". It measures 16 1/2 inches wide and the handle sticks out another 5 inches. The handle is stuck in the position you see in the photos. Not sure if you can take it apart and free it up or what. I think it will make a great wall hanger in that nautical decor room you have! Weight is about 22 pounds of all brass!

This is a matched set (red, green, and clear) of Appleton original ship lights. Each light measures 17 inches tall and 6 inches wide. Each light has two 360 degree fresnel glass lens that measure 5 inches tall. All glass lens are free of damage. Each light has two light bulbs, one in the top, and one in the bottom. The bottom light bulb is changed by removing a screw off lid on the bottom that is just like the top hatch, but without the handle. Each light weighs 21 pounds. This is the third set of these lights I have owned, and due to the design the lids for accessing the bulbs never go on or off very easy.

I have now re-wired these lights and each one has two new 110-120 Volt UL Listed bulb fixtures and are ready to install.

Let's start out by saying this light is a solid 7 pounds of brass and copper. This original bulkhead style light was used in lots of different work area on large ships. This light was designed for wet outside locations, but can be used as a functional and decorative fixture in your home. I sale a lot of these to clients who use them has front door lights, dock lights, and sea wall lights. The main housing is cast brass and the screw on cage is copper. The globe is glass, and is undamaged.  The height of this light is just short of 9 inches. When mounted to the wall, it will extend 6 3/4 inches from the wall. The base plate of the wall mount is 3 3/4 inches wide and has three mount holes. The copper cage and glass globe are both threaded, and screw on to the brass base. Photos show original wiring, but I have now re-wired this light with a new 110-120 UL Listed fixture, and it is ready for installation!

This is a huge post light. Made of a combination of copper and brass, it is ready for any location. You can mount this one on a dock post, on the roof, or hang it upside down from the ceiling. This light weights 23 pounds, so you already know it is not one of those cheap repo you see listed all over the internet! Typically we see this light coming off the very large container ships. Normally these lights have four brass arms that extend off of the main housing. These arms would have 1 inch holes on the end of each one. The attachment point on the ship would have four open hooks. The light would lock onto these hooks for attachment. I have removed the arms and used the same brass to cast the three piece pipe mount you now see on the bottom of this light. This small modification makes the light more useable and has many different ways to mount it. This is one of my best sellers! This light is 18 inches tall, and 11 inches wide. You can change the center pipe on the base and make it taller or shorter.

Not shown in the photos, I have now re-wired this light and installed a new 110-120 volt UL Listed bulb fixture. Any normal house bulb will work. I drilled a hole in the base, and pulled the new wires from inside the pipe mount. The hole on the side where the old wires entered the lamp has been sealed.

This original teak wood binnacle has a makers' plate that indicated it was made by "Ibarreche & Company S.A. Spain". The compass is a 10 1/2 inch C. Plath. Compass is liquid filled and functional. This was one a wall mount Engine Telegraph. I made the bolt on base because of the problems most people would have in mounting this hunk of steel to the wall. As you can see, this item is marked "Thomas B. Thrige  Odense - Danmark". As you move the control arm, the internal bell rings to signal a change in command. Stands 42 inches tall on the base I made for it. Without the base it would be 29 inches tall. The dial is 20 inches wide. The housing is 13 inches thick.

This item will have to be shipped "Common Carrier" trucking, or be picked up. The unassembled weight exceeds FedEx and UPS rules. You can also pick this item up at our Monticello, Indiana warehouse.

The one I have left in stock does not have the iron base.

Floats like this were used all over the world for different purposes. This float was a mooring marker. The "C" stands for Mooring Field, and the "7" stands for position number 7. When you would call the harbor master for a parking spot, they would assign you a space number in one of the many mooring fields in the harbor. This marking system also helped when you called the harbor taxi for a lift to shore. This original mooring float measures 38 inches tall, and about 18 inches wide. The end that is stuck in the ground looks just like the top ring. This is a fully functional float, or a cool addition to your room decor. Weight is about 18 pounds.

This is an original 1947 12 foot Penn Yan row boat. Commonly referred to as a "Car Topper". This is a canvas over cedar strip construction boat. It has the original brass hardware and brass maker's plate. The set of original oars is included. This boat could be powered by a small outboard. This is a very light weight boat that would make a great hanging display, as the wood is in outstanding condition!

This is a solid brass Nautical Spot Light. Measures 16 inches tall, and 9 1/2 inches from front to back. The glass spot light cover is 9 inches wide. You can make your power connection inside the junction box on the back side. No makers' mark or date stamp, but I assume this one is American and would date to the 1950's or older. This is one of my projects that was made to fit the needs of one our design contractors. Yes, it is 100% new, but cast with solid high quality brass!

This light can be used inside or out, it will never rust apart. To change the bulb, you only spin the globes section and the whole case assembly comes off as one piece (see additional photos on next page).  From the ceiling it will hang down 7 1/4 inches. The glass globe measures 3 1/2 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches long. The reflecting shield measures 7 inches wide. The power feed is from the base and the wires can pull right into the ceiling area.

The base mount is 2 1/2 inches wide and has two mounting holes. Pre-wired for 110-120 volts. Recommended bulb size is 45 watt or less normal house light.

These copper and brass nautical spot lights were mainly used on the bridge area to light up the work areas on the deck. While designed for outside use, they make great decor lights for the nautical interior. The light swivels into different position. As shown, the heights of the light is 12 1/2 inches. The mount plate on the cast brass arm is 3 3/4 inches wide and has four mount holes. The front surface of the spot light measures just over 10 inches wide and has a glass cover for the bulb area.

We started out with an original cast brass engine room light, and turned it into this very nice hanging light with a brass deflector cover. This light comes to you polished, re-wired (110-120 volt UL Listed Fixture), and 4 feet of polished brass chain and wire. Total weight is about 8 pounds, so you do  not need a massive support beam to hang it from. The hanging light measures 9 inches tall, and about 7 inches wide. This is a nice original copper mast head light measuring 10 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches wide. The glass globe is 360 degree fresnel and is undamaged. Designed for outside use but can be used on the inside project!

This is an original nautical light constructed of all copper and brass. With the top handle up as shown in the photo to the left, it measures about 16 inches tall. This is a matched set of three brass and copper ship lights. These were made by Nippon Sento Co. LTD. The glass globes are fresnel and free of any damage. We call this the "Rain Cover Bulkhead Light". We have made one small modification to this solid cast brass light. The rain cover between the cage and the top neck was added. It can be removed if you do not like it, but many clients have loved this light! This light weights about 7 1/2 pounds. It is about 10 1/2 inches tall. It will extend out from the wall by about 7 inches. The globe cage and the glass globe unscrew to access the bulb. The wall mount measures 4 1/4 inches wide, and has four holes for mount screws. Have you been looking for a desktop binnacle? This is part real and part fantasy. The compass and compensating weights and arms are real. Everything else is what we made up here in the shop to make this movie prop. No, it was not used in a movie, they ordered it and never picked it up. Who cares, here it is, and it is cool! The wood is teak, and everything else is brass (except the compensating weights). The base is 11 3/4 X 11 3/4 inches. The compass glass measures 6 inches wide, and the card is 4 inches wide. The compass card is marked "Cassens & Plath Bremen". The compass is liquid filled and functional. Height to the top of the compensation weights is 12 inches. Height to the top of the compass is 10 inches. As shown in the photo to the left, the outside edge to outside edge of the weights is just over 20 inches. The do slide in and out, so this measurement can change.

This light has a top light and a bottom light, and each light has it's own access door. Depending on what light bulb you put in this one, it could be seen for well over one - three miles. This one weights 32 pounds, so use all four wall mounts if you can! Original wiring and bulb fixtures need replaced if you are going to light this one up. Needless to say, you can use this light outside with no problems. It can also be used inside, but I hope you have a big room if you do this.

Looking for something just a little different for your nautical light collection? We picked this lights up in the same salvage yard that the SS Norway was being scrapped in. While the yard operator told me these came from that vessel, I can't confirm that story. Regardless what vessel they came from they are neat! This light was designed to mount to the wall with that stainless steel bar on one end. It is a "V" shaped sign with the same message on two different sides. Inside the light is the remains of a light fixture. I have not made any effort to re-wire this light because it makes a great display just as you see it. When mounted to the wall, this light will extend out from the wall by just short of 10 inches. Each "TO BOATS" sign measures 3 x 9 inches with the sign measuring 3 1/2 inches tall.

This is one of the most useable solid brass nautical lights you can find. The cage and the base that holds the light fixture are original. We designed the folding arm and wall mount for one of our clients. When the job was complete, we had a few extra lights that the client did not want. The old pieces and the new pieces are all 100 percent cast brass, and will last forever even in a salt water environment. The light has been re-wired and is ready for your 110 volt installation. When we installed these for our client, we found that 45 watt bulbs provided the best lighting. As you can see from the attached photos, you can mount this light 4 different ways. You can wall mount is with the light hanging down, or your can fold the light to an up-right position. This light can also be ceiling hung, or you can mount it with the base down. This light can be used as an indoor fixture, or you can mount is outside. The globes are glass. The original parts of this light were recovered from a shipyard operation and are not new. It can be expected that items recovered from a shipyard operation will not be new in the box condition. Please view the attached photos and ask questions before you bid.

In the first attached photo you see the light as it would hang from the ceiling position. In this position, the light measures 15 1/2 inches tall. If you inverted the position to become a base mount (like mounting it on a post) it would also measure 15 1/2 inches tall.  The other photos show the light being used as a wall mount. In this position, the light extends about 9 1/4 inches out from the wall. From the wall mount screw to the top of the cage assembly it measures 11 1/2 inches tall.

We call compasses like this "Life Boat Binnacle Compasses", but if the truth were known, they were also used on small costal boats and tugs. This solid brass binnacle compass measures 11 inches tall. Not counting the oil burner compartment, it measures about 7 1/2 inches wide. The base measures 5 1/4 inches wide and has three mount holes extending out from that measurement. The glass viewing window measures about 4 inches wide. The face of the compass is 6 inches. The compass is liquid filled, and is fully functional. The compass is spring mounted in the cast brass base.

OK, for all of you people who E-Mail all the time looking for globes, here is your shot to own a few real glass fresnel type globes. The outside top and bottom edge measures 6 1/8 inches wide. From the top edge to the bottom edge, they measure 5 7/8 inches tall. None are perfect, they all have chips like the one shown in the additional photos. Some has paint overspray on them, all need cleaned. THIS IS THE ONLY SIZE LIKE THIS I HAVE IN STOCK. Again, none of these globes are mint, perfect, or anything close to that. Most nautical lovers call this a "Fox Light". Not sure were the name comes from, but these lights were positioned on the bridge of the ship and pointed to the main deck area. Take a good look to better understand the size of this light, that is a 12 oz Coca-Cola can next to the light. This light is made of all brass and copper. Use it inside or out, it will last for ever! This light weighs right at 40 pounds. Including the brass ring around the glass globe, it measures just over 17 inches wide. As you see it in the photo with the Coke can next to it, the height is 22 inches. The mount arm can be adjusted to change the angle.

This light has the original wiring and has not been tested. I recommend re-wiring it if you are going to light it up.

We recovered this helm station from one of the ship breakers in Bangladesh during our Spring 2008 trip. It was already off the vessel when I found it, so I have no knowledge of the vessel history. As shown in the photo on the left, it measures 58 inches tall. The original teak wood wheel measures 36 inches from tip to tip. The iron helm measures 48 inches tall. You will not need to worry about someone carrying this one off unless they bring a few friends, it is heavy! Lots of brass on the wheel. We polished the brass, and re-finished the teak wood. The helm is made of iron.

This solid brass porthole window weights 60 pounds! The outside frame measures 18 X 24 inches. The window frame measures 16 X 21 1/2 inches. The glass is undamaged other than a little age wear. This is a little different porthole, the lugs are on the inside of the window frame. When you release the two lugs, the window opens 180 degrees. The single leg on the other side of the lugs is a prop. You can prop the window in two different positions. You can also replace this prop with a longer prop and different notches that allow the window to be propped open to almost any position from 0-180 degrees.  The raised lip on the back side that fits the opening measures 15 1/4 x 21 1/4 inches. Perfect for making a table!!!

You are looking at a 23 inch long hand made ship's model. The real ship that this model was made after was scrapped in the breaking yards just North of Bombay last year. This model was found on the bridge of the vessel. As you can see by the photos, the condition is not mint, but it will still make a great display! Looks like it had a display cover, but it was long gone when I found the model. The highest point of the model measures 6 1/2 inches, not counting the blue base it is mounted to.

This is a set of three reproduction oil burning ship lights. The only thing that is original on these lights is the glass globes. They are made of copper and brass, so like my vintage lights I offer for sale, they will last for ever. This is an original cast brass engine room light that I have added a rain cover to. The rain cover is spun brass, and did not require any modification to the original light to install it. When mounted to the ceiling, this light will hang down 9 inches. The rain cover is just over 7 inches wide. This light weighs about 10 pounds! The two mounting holes are 5 1/4 inches on center apart. I have removed the original wiring and installed a new 110 Volt UL Listed bulb fixture and it has 4 inches of wire to make the power connection. The base of this light makes a nice junction box, so you can really make your final connection inside this area. The brass cage on this light is stamped "Oceanic". This is a makers' name, not a vessel name.

Is this a monster light or what????? I placed the 12 oz Coke can next to it so you can get a true indication how big this 42 pound copper and brass light really is. This one measures 25 inches tall, and 13 inches wide. Both globes are clear fresnel glass. Condition of the globes is perfect.

Not shown in the photos, this light is now re-wired with two new UL Listed 110-120 volt bulb fixtures that take a normal house bulb. For best results, I recommend a T10 Bulb between 40-60 watts. T10 bulbs are tubular appliance bulbs that can be found at any hardware store for around $5.00. Each bulb fixture has separate wires so you can do something different with each one, or tie them together with a single power source.
